Guitar Wiz’s iOS 27 update adds camera chord recognition, automatic tempo detection, expanded Siri and Apple Intelligence support, Extra Large widgets, and a Liquid Glass interface across Apple devices. The update also brings responsive layouts and focused practice tools to iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch.

Camera chord recognition and automatic tempo detection

The Song Sheet Scanner can identify guitar chords from a lyric sheet, songbook, screen, or screenshot. Guitar Wiz opens a detected chord in the guitar chord library, where players can view fingerings, hear an audio preview, and save the chord to a collection.

Automatic tempo detection listens to music nearby, identifies its BPM, and sets the metronome to the matching speed. Players can use it when practicing with a recording, rehearsing an arrangement, or establishing a tempo before a session.

Siri, Apple Intelligence, and Liquid Glass integration

The Siri and App Intents features let players open and play chords, search the chord library, manage favorites and collections, start or stop the metronome, set a BPM, detect a song’s tempo, open the guitar tuner, and manage Song Maker documents. “Meet the All-New Siri AI” and the Siri section of “See What’s New in iOS 27 — Meet the all-new Siri AI (Today / Now Trending)” present this kind of cross-app action as part of Apple’s launch coverage.
