Guitar Wiz adapts to iPhone Duo's outer display and unfolded inner display. The tuner, chord library, metronome, and home screen reorganize their content to use the available space, giving you a compact reference when the device is closed and a wider practice workspace when it is open.

## A guitar tuner that adapts when you unfold

On the outer display, the [Tuner](/guitar-tuner/) keeps the detected note, cents, gauge, and string references in a compact layout. Unfold iPhone Duo in landscape and the tuning gauge sits beside the tuning controls. In unfolded portrait, the gauge sits above the controls for a natural top-to-bottom reading flow.

These arrangements keep the target tuning and live pitch information visible together. Choose the orientation that is easiest to read from your playing position, whether the device is beside you on a desk or in front of you on a stand.

## Compare chord fingerings on the larger display

The [guitar chord library](/guitar-chords/) changes its arrangement with the display. The outer screen keeps one selected chord prominent. Unfolded landscape gives the main chord diagram its own reading area, with a grid of alternative shapes beside it. In portrait, the selected diagram sits above a row of other positions.

This makes it easier to compare voicings without losing the chord you are studying. Finger numbers, note names, open and muted strings, and the path into [Chord Assist](/chord-assist/) remain part of the chord-learning workflow.

## Keep metronome controls in view

The [Metronome](/metronome/) also adapts its tempo and rhythm controls across compact, unfolded landscape, and unfolded portrait configurations. The larger layout gives the active beat display and controls more room while you keep time on the guitar.

Set a comfortable tempo and practice one chord change at a time. If you move to another tool, the metronome's background playback and supported [Live Activity controls](/widgets-and-live-activities/) help you continue the timing exercise.

## Start a session from an adaptive home screen

The Home screen changes its layout to fit the space available. Chord of the Day and essential tools remain recognizable, while the unfolded display provides more room to present the starting points for your practice.

Begin with a tuning check, explore the daily chord, then practice a progression or develop an idea in [Song Maker](/song-maker/). The adaptive layout supports the same connected guitar toolkit across the device's configurations.

## Choose a layout for the task

Use the outer display for a quick reference or tuning check. Unfold in landscape when comparing shapes side by side, or use portrait when you prefer a selected chord above its alternatives. The screenshots show the actual layouts so you can compare the arrangements before using them.
